That's the way you get there, though. You ain't a 140lb scrawny dude. You gotta do the distance to build the cartilage. Trying to go long and fast without building the infrastructure is a brilliant way to screw yer knees up. i've done it before. 12min miles are just fine.

ended up being 8.2 miles. 12 min miles aren't so great, but I can live with it for the moment.
