I went to the gym yesterday knowing that no one else would show up, so I figured I'd actually get in a man's workout. Actually went really well. I put up a new PR on the bench and on Pullups.
Bench:
135 x 10
225 x 6
275 x 4
315 x 3
335 x 1
355 x 1 (New PR)
335 x 2
315 x 3
JM presses: 3 sets of 8 with moderate weight. These put a lot of stress on the elbows and I'm still working on getting the form down.
Pull ups:
body weight (~210lbs) x 10
+25lbs x 8
+50lbs x 6
+75lbs x 3 x 3
DB rows:
85lbs for 3 sets of 10 (this required a lot of screaming)
Now this was my kind of workout. Short and heavy.
We've been in our new place for a week now and are finally sarting to make some order of things. Next week I'm going to start adding in some strongman specific training in my backyard. I'm really looking forward to that.

That sounds just cool, getting yer stongman circuit up in the back yard. i'm having a beer now, and that's the most active thing i've done today. Just endured a 3 hr. long nutrition class. That's gonna end up being the biggest f'in waste of time in my school career-- and that's coming from a guy what's taken raquetball, public speaking, and "Essentials of Fitness Testing" which involved shot-putting a basketball for distance. Three hours discussing in no detail whatsoever the path that food takes from yer mouth to yer crapper. It's this airhead career "Registered Nutritionist" teaching it, and she takes nothing for granted.
So's that a raw PR, or a total PR?
i was doing DB shrugs yesterday, and i thought of you. i thought that you're right about picking up 225 in each hand and walking with it. That'd kick my ass.
That's my best total PR. I haven't done anything in a shirt in a while. I've decided not to put one back on until I can do 405 raw. Hopefully by the end of the year.
That's my plan too: i'm not gonna put a bench shirt on 'till i'm doing 405 raw. That'll keep me safe for a while.
